Worth adding to your collection!
Read this if you want to unearth the gems of you life
(Nampa, Idaho – December 2009) - If you are at a point in your life where you need to reassess your life, where you are now and where you want to go, "
Finding Hidden Treasures" may help you figure out your next steps.
Local business consultant and former pastor
Ron Price's "Finding Hidden Treasures" is quite a gem and worth adding to your self-development library.
The 215-page paperback book was released in 2003, but it seems very relevant for today's turbulent economy. Price starts off with a lesson: If you don't like something, then you are the person who can change it. He walks you through an assessment process and offers thoughtful action plans to help you take the next steps.
But this is not your ordinary business advice book. This book starts with assessing your thoughts and goals, desires, your health, your spiritual well being and some advice to stake your own claim. Consider these five parts and respective chapter topics.
- Diamonds of the Mind: A Penny For Your Thoughts; Unlimited Possibilities; Reading for Diamonds; The Greatest Hidden Treasure; Remembering Forward; Making Sense of Goals; and Enlisting Providence.
- Diamonds of the Heart: Desire; Discontentment; Pain; Enthusiasm; Perseverance; Listening and Friendship.
- Diamonds of the Body: The Digestive System; The Circulatory System; The Nervous System; The Glandular System; The Respiratory System; The Structural System; and the Immune System.
- Diamonds of the Spirit: Faith; Prayer; Confession; Repentance; Worship; Thanksgiving; and Giving
- Staking Your Claim for Hidden Treasures
This is not a confrontational format. It's easy to read and gives you plenty to think about. Price shares lessons learned during his diverse past, from live theater, truck tire retreading, ministry, personal coaching, nutrition/wellness education, sales and marketing.
In his introduction, Price gives you permission to read only the chapters that interest you.
"Fortunately this book is only half completed-the rest must be finished in the reading. My desire is that 'Finding Hidden Treasures' will spark original thinking in you and serve as a catalyst for your own adventure and treasure hunt. Because half of the job is in reading, I suggest three different ways to approach your journey through this book:"
- For entertainment purposes; skim through and see what interests you.
- To influence your thinking; use a highlighter to mark the gems that may enrich your life.
- To change your destiny; use this book as a shovel to dig up treasures beyond your wildest dreams.
This book could provide the treasure map to help you decide if you are ready to stake a claim and find those hidden gems.
