The Idaho Business Review is joining with POPULUS for the third year in a row to sponsor the statewide “Best Places to Work in Idaho” employee survey. Companies can participate and receive three significant sets of data that provide valuable input from their employees.
First, participating companies will receive employee feedback on several questions that relate to five areas of the employee/employer relationship. These include:
•
Employee Growth and Development
• Work Environment
• Company Management
• Compensation and Benefits
• Work-Life Balance
The survey results will provide detailed information regarding the employee’s current level of satisfaction in each of the areas. Next, employees will be given the opportunity to communicate how significant or important each area of focus is in relationship to their current level of satisfaction. The “satisfaction” and “importance” scores will then be plotted visually on a chart to identify where the greatest strengths are in the employee/employer relationships and what categories are most important to address. Over twenty individual factors will be visually plotted as part of the survey analysis.
Third, employer survey results will be compared with those of other companies in Idaho on a confidential basis, so each employer will have an opportunity to identify high levels of achievement as well as areas that will benefit from renewed focus. Price Associates, a nationally recognized business consulting firm based in Nampa, Idaho, will be available to help company leaders interpret and apply the survey findings.
“Best Places to Work in Idaho” is a unique program because it is entirely data-driven. There is no panel of judges, no subjective judgments or politics, just pure data collected anonymously from employees to compare against state wide standards of excellence. All companies participating will benefit from access to their confidential data. The top companies in the state will be recognized as “Best Places to Work in Idaho” in a special publication of the Idaho Business Review and receive special acknowledgment at a red carpet event to be held on April 29, 2010 at the Stueckle Sky Center at Boise State University.
