2010 Winners List Announced
A total of 42 companies from throughout the state participated in this year’s "Best Places to Work in Idaho" program. 20 companies are being honored for their strong workplace environments that demonstrate best practices in employee attraction and retention. The program, now in its third year, is sponsored by the Idaho Business Review, POPULUS, and Price Associates.
Eight of the top 20 companies received recognition in last year’s program. For many of the companies that made the 2010 list, it was their first time taking part in the evaluation.
The program honors the top companies in the state, as determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. Winners were selected from two categories: small to medium-sized companies of between 20 and 99 employees and large-sized companies consisting of 100 or more employees.
"These 20 companies are among the state's best employers who take pride in creating an environment that allows workers to feel respected and be productive; they also recognize how this helps the company be successful and reach its goals," offers Ron Price, Price Associates President.
"Considering the tough economic times of the past year-plus, it was especially encouraging to see so many Idaho companies fitting the criteria, as well as so many new companies taking part in the evaluation. The confidential feedback from employees is invaluable and really the most important aspect of the process."
A calculation of the surveys was performed by POPULUS, a national leader in survey metrics for management. The winners will be honored by the Idaho Business Review at the Best Places to Work awards reception on April 29 at the Stueckle Sky Club on the Boise State University campus. All companies that participated in the 2010 Best Places to Work in Idaho program received an evaluation identifying their strengths and weaknesses in five categories based on the data collected from their employees. Participation in the program was provided free-of-charge by the sponsoring organizations. Detailed reports that can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs were also made available for a modest fee. Price Associates consultants are providing complimentary sessions to those purchasing the full reporting package from POPULUS.
